October 7 daily devotional

Quote:

Wisdom in servants is better than folly in sons. FINIS JENNINGS DAKE

There is wisdom of the head, and a wisdom of the heart. Charles Dickens.

Scripture:

Proverbs 17:2 A  wise servant will rule over a disgraceful son and will share the inheritance as one of the brothers.

Proverbs 12:24 The Hand of the diligent will rule but the slack hand will be put to forced labor. (NAS)

Testimony:

The key word in the Book of Proverbs is Wisdom “ability to live life skillfully.”  Wisdom is living godly life in an ungodly world. However, it is no simple assignment. Proverbs provides God’s detailed instructions for his people to deal successfully with the practical affairs of everyday life: how to relate with God, parents, children, neighbors, friends, enemies and government. Solomon the principal author of the “Book of Proverbs”, uses a combination of poetry, parables, pithy questions, short stories and wise maxims to give strikingly memorable form the common sense and divine perspective necessary to handle life issues. Diligence is a crucial requirement to rule and reign in life.

Wednesday October 6, 2010 was a day of honor and reward for wisdom and hard work for college students at the prestigious DOWEN COLLEGE, LAGOS. It was her 13th Founder’s day anniversary and Price giving ceremony and I have been invited for the Keynote address. “To be the best, moral values of honesty, diligence, fairness, integrity and hard work must be restored back to the colleges and the government must live up to her role of creating enabling environment to achieve this through infrastructure and human resources particularly in public schools” – Dotun Ojelabi. Over 30 college students were awarded scholarship awarded scholarship by the school founder for hard work, diligence and consistent display of wisdom in conduct and academics. My conclusion is that well guided hard work and display of God given wisdom will make you reign and rule in life.

Prayer Points:

1.   Oh Lord I desire and demand the wisdom and diligence to handle my real life issues in JESUS NAME.
2.   My life shall not bring shame. My Life shall radiate God’s glory in JESUS NAME.
3.   God should reign in our schools and the bar of moral values be raised in JESUS NAME.

Action Points:

1. Study the Book of Proverbs.
2. Be diligent in every thing you do.
3.  Ask God for Grace for conscientious hard work and perseverance particularly in your relationship with God and man.
